Sports LinkVenture — “Link The City” Community Event: 100KM Relay Challenge Successfully Completed in 12 Hours Participants and Public Joined in The Thrilling Experience

Sports LinkVenture organised by IHKSports and sponsored by Link Together Initiatives successfully wrapped up with the “Link The City” Community Event held in mid-June 2025 in Lok Fu Place. Student participants from the programme successfully completed a 100KM relay challenge within 12 hours through trail running, rowing, and cycling.

On the event day, Sports LinkVenture participants kick-started their relay challenge in  Leung King Plaza in Tuen Mun. Despite unstable weather conditions, they continued their remaining relay indoors in the afternoon and successfully completed the 100KM cross-district relay, arriving at the finishing line at Lok Fu Place.

Three current and former Hong Kong athletes, including trail runner Harmony Lam, cyclist Daniel Yip and former rower Cheung Hoi Lam joined in to cheer on the participants of Sports LinkVenture. Apart from trying out the AR sports games themselves, including AR running, AR rowing machines, and AR indoor cycling bikes, each athlete shared valuable insights on youth sports development and promotion.

Members of the public also joined the Community Carnival at Lok Fu Place, actively supporting the students’ relay challenge through participating in a public 100km Community Challenge themselves by taking on the challenge through AR sports machines, ultimately accumulating over 400km, bringing the event to a successful conclusion.

Dodgeball Taster Sessions × Special Props Challenge

Co-organised by JC Fit City and IHKSports, with support from the Dodgeball Association of Hong Kong, China, the “Dodgeball Taster Sessions × Special Props Challenge” wrapped up in mid-June at King’s Park. 90 participants attended three intensive training sessions before forming 15 teams of 6 members to vie for the title.

Participants were divided into groups, with special rules introduced in the competition. Each group drew different cards which provided them with unique equipment or tactical advantages, adding a sense of novelty to the match. After a series of battles, the team from Yau Ma Tei District became the champions!

Beyond crowning a winner, the event highlighted participants’ resilience and rekindled a love of sport among many novices. We hope that this event will inspire healthy, active lifestyles across the community, allowing participants to maintain their love and passion for sports.

Family “GOlympics” Community Sports Day

Organised by IHKSports, co-funded by Jebsen Group and the Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged, the Family “GOlympics” Community Sports Day was successfully held at GO PARK Sports in early June. The event drew over 400 participants, with families bonding through a day of active fun.

The highlight was the thrilling parent-child contests, where nearly 100 families competed in junior and senior primary school divisions, demonstrating teamwork and shared determination. Heartwarming moments of encouragement and laughter filled the games, reinforcing the power of family connections.

Beyond the competitions, participants enjoyed sports taster sessions – including rock climbing and padel – led by professional coaches. The event also featured fun interactive booths with activities like frisbee and cornhole, allowing both adults and children to try out various types of sports.

This event not only strengthened family bonds but also encouraged everyone to get active together. We look forward to hosting more initiatives to inspire healthier, happier communities!

“Jebsen InspiringHK!” Home Sweat Home Phases 1 & 2 Wrapped Up Successfully!

“Jebsen InspiringHK!” Home Sweat Home is a holistic programme funded by Jebsen Group and the Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged. It aims to improve the quality of life and growth environment of underprivileged children living in inadequate or transitional social housing by offering sports activities and workshops on nutrition and posture correction.

The beneficiary families of phase one have completed various parent-child sports classes and take-home tasks. Those with good performance have been selected to enter phase two of the programme to attend the informative workshops and home visits organised by our staff and corporate volunteers.

During the home visits, the volunteers visited the living spaces of the families and provided practical recommendations for home improvement. Beneficiary families will utilise a subsidy to purchase storage items or small furniture to improve the quality of their home environment.

Growing Together: Recent Learning Milestones at IHKSports

At IHKSports, we believe that the effectiveness of our sports programmes goes beyond the satisfaction of our teams and beneficiaries; it must be data-driven. That’s why we prioritise a robust measurement model.

Recently, our team participated in a two-day workshop organised by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Programme on Social Innovation, focusing on “Measuring and Selling Your Impact“. The workshop provided us with practical tools for enhancing our impact assessment and we appreciated the genuine discussions among NGO leaders and funders about sector challenges.

Additionally, our Fundraising and Communications Manager, Yu Ting has been admitted to the 2025 cohort of the HKU-UBS Sustainable and Social Innovation Leadership Programme, a rigorous 6-month course covering strategic thinking, cross-sector collaboration, social innovation and more. Through case studies and mentorship from industry leaders, the programme provides fresh perspectives on scaling social initiatives—culminating in a competitive pitch that challenges participants to design actionable solutions and programmes for real-world problems.

We’re committed to staying ahead—equipping our team with knowledge, skills, and partnerships to maximise our community impact!
