WELL DUNK! Students Embark on a Transformative Basketball and Cultural Exchange in Hangzhou

Over the Easter break, 30 underprivileged students from our WELL DUNK! Public Estate Basketball League and Training Programme embarked on a four-day basketball and cultural exchange in Hangzhou. For 15 of them, this journey marked their very first time getting on a flight.

With Joe Tsai Foundation’s kind hospitality and arrangement, our students had the opportunity to engage in friendly basketball matches against students from three local Hangzhou secondary schools. Players from both sides gathered in a circle afterward to exchange heartfelt stories about their basketball journeys. One particularly moving moment came when a WELL DUNK! student shared, “My coach’s lesson that ‘basketball is about perseverance’ has become my life philosophy – it gives me the courage to play with confidence whether I’m on the court or facing challenges in daily life“.

Beyond basketball, our students visited the Alibaba Xixi Park, learning about the company’s technological advancements and philanthropic vision, while another interactive experience at Hangzhou Shenhao Technology introduced them to AI robotics and big data applications—inspiring thoughts on how sports and technology could intersect in their futures.

The trip also offered chances for deeper sports and cultural immersion as students explored Hangzhou’s remarkable iconic landmarks, including visiting the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum and exterior of the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center.

The trip provided the students with exposure to world-class sports facilities and showcased Hangzhou’s unique fusion of tradition and technology. They have returned home not only with enhanced basketball skills, but with broadened horizons and newfound inspiration to reach their fullest potential.

Youth Run Ventures: Movie Screening and Sharing

We celebrated the incredible journey of our students from the “Youth Run Ventures” programme with an inspiring movie screening and sharing event earlier.

The event featured the screening of “Four Trails“, a film about one of Hong Kong’s toughest running competitions—followed by thoughtful reflections from our students. They shared their own stories of perseverance from their transformative 3-day, 2-night exchange trip in Taichung, where they took on a challenging 9.5KM run competition.

From battling self-doubt to pushing through setbacks, their honest stories highlighted the power of resilience, teamwork, and stepping beyond comfort zones. One of our students shared that, It turns out I don’t need to run very fast or win a prize—just completing the race itself is already commendable! Along the way, I thought of quitting many times, but I kept telling myself, ‘I’m already half way there—how can I give up now?‘” In the end, she achieved an impressive 10th place in the girls’ division, a result that is truly inspiring.

A sincere thanks to Decathlon for their thought-provoking sharing with our students after the movie screening which made the event even more meaningful!

NBA Cares Basketball Youth Clinic! A Success with Over 200 Participants!

JC Fit City Easter Team Challenge – Mission Accomplished!

IHKSports is honored to form a community partnership with NBA Cares this year. Over two consecutive weekends in April, we successfully hosted 10 sessions of the NBA Cares Basketball Youth Clinic, offering an enriching basketball experience for children and youths aged 6 to 18.

The clinic was led by Natalia AndreSenior Manager of NBA Asia Basketball Operations, who provided participants with intensive training designed to enhance their basketball skills and tactical understanding. We believe not only did the 200 young players enjoy their time, but they also made significant improvement in their offensive and defensive techniques!

The Easter holiday kicked off with an exciting Team Challenge that brought together participants from three of our JC Fit City fitness classes. This event gave everyone the perfect opportunity to put their training into practice.

The day began with energetic warm-up activities designed to sharpen observation skills and build team dynamics. The main event featured 10 challenging rounds that truly tested participants’ ability to work together strategically.

What stood out most was seeing everyone push their limits while supporting their teammates. Their determination paid off – every single team successfully completed all challenges!

As a special recognition of their teamwork, each participant received a custom medal. When connected with their teammates’ medals, they formed a collective star – a beautiful representation of individual effort contributing to team success.

This is just the beginning of their fitness journey. Let us maintain this momentum, stay committed to an active lifestyle, and continue growing as part of the “Fitizen”community.

IHKSports’ Staff Representing Hong Kong Women’s Softball Team for Asian Games Preparations in Kaohsiung

IHKSports takes pride in supporting staff who compete at the highest athletic levels!

Alvina, our Senior Programme Officer and member of the Hong Kong Women’s Softball Team, embarked on an intensive training week in Kaohsiung this March. Alvina trained with one of Taiwan’s top corporate league teams, where she pushed through high-intensity drills while swapping techniques with pro players — turning every grueling session into a chance to level up her game.

This incredible opportunity represents an important step in Alvina’s journey toward competing at the 2026 Asian Games. Join us in cheering on Alvina and Team Hong Kong China as they pursue their athletic dreams!
