Building Community, Building Tung Chung: Lunar Walkathon 2025
As one of the key events of the “Building Community, Building Tung Chung” Programme, “Building Community, Building Tung Chung: Lunar Walkathon 2025” successfully concluded in Tung Chung in February, bringing over 2,000 members of the community together, including more than 700 families, in the festive atmosphere of Chinese New Year! Dr. Tsui Lok Kin, Edwin, JP, the Controller of the Centre for Health Protection, graced the event as the guest of honour, joined by Mr. Tim Blackburn, Chief Executive of Swire Properties, Ms. Kong Ka Wai, Judy, Chief Executive of InspiringHK Sports Foundation and Star Guest, Ms. Grace Chan, marking the beginning of the 5KM walk.

In addition to the walk, the event also featured a large-scale sports carnival held at Citygate Outlets, where families immersed themselves in the festive atmosphere, exploring our bustling Chinese New Year market and enjoying some delightful shopping! The day was also packed with engaging parent-child workshops and interactive sports booths. From dance to music, another highlight of the carnival was the captivating performances that added an extra sparkle to the festivities.

Skinflex Club – Caregiver Health Talk & Children’s Fencing Taster

In mid-February, students from five classes of Skinflex Club, along with their caregivers, enthusiastically participated in two meaningful activities: a Caregiver Health Talk and a Children’s Fencing Taster to officially kick-off the second phase of the programme!
We were honoured to welcome two consultant doctors from our professional advisory team, Dr. Hon Kam Lun, Ellis and Dr. Gilbert T. Chua, who conducted an engaging and informative health seminar for the caregivers. The doctors shared their expertise on eczema and allergies, offering practical tips for children’s daily care. Their insights enabled parents to gain a deeper understanding of these health issues and how to better support their children’s well-being.
Meanwhile, at the same venue, we organised an exciting fencing experience for the children participants. They had a fantastic time exploring the sport, immersing themselves in fun moments of learning something new.
We also invited Mr. Cheung Siu-lun, silver medallist in men’s individual épée at the Asian Games, to share his personal experiences with eczema. Through his story, he encouraged everyone to maintain a positive attitude when facing challenges, demonstrating how perseverance can lead to success.

【🔥Team News 】Congratulations to Zoe for Completing the Half Marathon!

Warm congratulations to our Fundraising Manager, Zoe, on completing a Half Marathon at the 2025 Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon (SCHKM)!
It has been ten years since Zoe first joined the SCHKM. She is deeply passionate about the sport of triathlon, and in 2024, she took on her first Full Ironman 226 race, which consists of a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a full marathon of 42.195 km—totalling 226 km. Given her extensive experience, the Half Marathon was certainly within her reach, where she finished in 2 hours and 4 minutes!
After the race, Zoe shared her thoughts:
I finished a few minutes behind my goal, but that’s the vibe when you’re running with a crowd. I was so inspired by all the folks with visual impairments running alongside their guide runners. It was amazing to see everyone pushing their limits and celebrating those little victories!
