Celebrating International Women’s Day: Empowering Our WELL DUNK! Girls!

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we hosted a WELL DUNK! Women Empowerment Sharing Session at Ming Tak Basketball Court—a venue chosen for its women-friendly theme. We were honoured to invite Hong Kong’s top billiard sports athlete, Miss Ng On Yee, along with two esteemed title-sponsors of the WELL DUNK! girls’ teams, Ms. Fiona Cheung, Chairperson of Federation of HK Jiangsu Women Organisations, and Ms. Carman Leung, Executive Director of UBS to share their inspiring stories with 60 of our WELL DUNK! girls.
What resonated most with the girls during the sharing session with the three distinguished guests was the empowering belief in embracing their strengths as females – they are their own source of empowerment, and that support for one another is the key to thriving!

HEARTware Bootcamp: Public Education Day – A Combination of Sports and Technology

In early March, IHKSports successfully hosted an engaging Public Education Day for the HEARTware Bootcamp programme. Held at D2 Place in Lai Chi Kok, the event drew over 400 enthusiastic participants. Combining the excitement of sports with technology, the event featured a series of augmented reality (AR) sports booths, such as AR fencing, skiing, swimming, stepping stones, and cycling, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere for participating families.
To balance the high-energy sports experiences, a more relaxing chair yoga session was arranged, providing participants with an opportunity to stretch and rejuvenate after their sports adventures. A unique highlight of the day was the involvement of parents and children from the programme, who took on meaningful roles as teaching assistants in the chair yoga session and helpers at the game booths. Their participation showcased the programme’s emphasis on fostering a sense of community and empowering participants to give back in impactful ways.

Youth Run Ventures: Taichung Exchange Tour | 19 Students Won 10 Awards in the 2025 Shengang Marathon

Youth Run Ventures, funded by Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies and organised by InspiringHK Sports Foundation, provides running training and overseas competition opportunities for underprivileged youth to unleash their potential through sports.
In March, students from Youth Run Ventures were honoured to participate in a three-day exchange trip to Taichung for the 9.5km challenge category of a charity marathon in the Shengang District. 19 exceptional students, selected through rigorous internal trials conducted earlier this year, underwent a month of intensive training to prepare for this exchange. Their hard work and dedication paid off as they delivered an outstanding performance, securing an impressive total of 10 awards. What a remarkable achievement!
During the trip, they also had the privilege of engaging in in-depth discussions with Mr. Cliff Chiang, a renowned trail runner from Taichung, gaining invaluable insights into professional running techniques. Additionally, the training sessions conducted during the trip provided participants with the opportunity to experience unique training methods and immerse themselves in a different cultural atmosphere.
This trip not only enhanced our students’ long-distance running skills but also broadened their horizons, making it a truly unforgettable journey of learning and personal growth.

March Wellness Day | An Afternoon of Volleyball Fun!

The monthly wellness day is HERE again!
Earlier in March, our talented colleagues Crystal, who is a volleyball coach herself, and Vincy, who is a former member of a local Division 1 women’s volleyball team, organised an engaging volleyball taster session for everyone. During the session, everyone quickly picked up basic skills and took on the challenge of trying out advanced passing and receiving techniques. The highlight of the day came when everyone split into two teams for an exciting, fast-paced match! The atmosphere was electric, with cheers ringing out and team spirit soaring, making for a fun and relaxing afternoon that brought everyone closer together.
As a team sport, volleyball emphasises collaboration and trust. By working together during the match, the team not only strengthened their teamwork but also deepened their bonds and built greater camaraderie. It was a day filled with energy, laughter, and a shared sense of achievement!
