Building Community, Building Tung Chung:

“Horse and Go: New Year Fitness Challenge” Successfully Held

With generous support from The Swire Group Charitable Trust, the “Building Community, Building Tung Chung” programme not only provided long-term sports training classes for students in Tung Chung schools, but also organised a series of community parent-child sports days and the “Lunar Walkathon 2025”, which attracted over 2,000 participants.

Our fifth Community Family Sports Day, titled “Horse and Go: New Year Fitness Challenge,” was successfully held on 15 February 2026, bringing the event to a joyful close. During this festive season, residents of Tung Chung came together to celebrate through a series of fun and invigorating fitness activities, sharing blessings and festive warmth throughout the community and uniting everyone in welcoming a prosperous new year filled with energy and happiness.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Swire Group Charitable Trust for its steadfast support in making this event possible. We also sincerely thank Citygate Outlets for providing the venue, and NAAC Tung Chung Integrated Services Centre for their invaluable co-organising efforts, all of which helped infuse Tung Chung with vitality, joy, and warmth during the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Sports LinkVenture 2.0 – Community Run

Sports LinkVenture 2.0, organised by IHKSports and sponsored by Link Together Initiatives, successfully hosted the Community Run held in mid-February 2026.

During the event, we were honoured to have renowned trail running coach, Wong Ho Chung and his dedicated team join us, along with mountain-themed YouTuber “beware the mountainman” Tommi Hui, who guided participants on an unforgettable journey. Starting from Lok Fu Place, the group traversed the historic Checkerboard Hill, ventured through the scenic Lion Rock Country Park, and proudly finished at the iconic Lion Pavilion—ushering in the new year with vibrant energy and heartfelt blessings for the Year of the Horse during  Chinese New Year.

This event not only affirmed the participants’ physical abilities but also enhanced interaction and cohesion within the community. Moving forward, we will continue to work hand in hand with everyone, connecting the community through sports as we “get moving” together!

Jebsen Annual Dinner Performance of “ROPE SKIPPING Inspires!”

Our students from “ROPE SKIPPING Inspires!” Verbena HKFYG recently experienced the thrill of a lifetime performing at the Jebsen Group Annual Dinner for their very first public showcase!

Over the past three months, these dedicated students have poured their hearts into practice, eager to shine on stage. Despite the understandable nerves that come with such a big moment, the warm applause and enthusiastic cheers from the audience sparked their confidence, allowing them to shine brighter than ever.

Their incredible energy, precision, and passion for rope skipping captivated everyone in the room, showcasing how sports can truly build resilience, teamwork, and self-belief.

Witnessing these students grow on their learning journey fills us with immense pride and heartfelt gratitude. A huge thank you to Jebsen Group, our dedicated partner behind the “Jebsen InspiringHK!” Long-term Sports Training Programme, for your unwavering support in empowering underprivileged children and youths through sports. Your commitment truly inspires change and opens doors to brighter futures! Together, let’s empower more youths through sports!

Kindness knows no boundaries. Let’s unite through sports to connect with one another, opening broader horizons for the growth of our next generation.
