Ronald has trained tirelessly—waking at sunrise, juggling work, and pushing his limits—all to prove that “you’re stronger than you think.” and here comes his day! Ronald has arrived the South Hokkaido, Japan, for his 2025 IRONMAN Japan! Let’s cheer him on!!

With the return of our IHKSports Executive Sports Challenge this summer, we are thrilled to introduce one of our challengers – Mr. Ronald Chan! 

As a senior executive taking care of mainland affairs in one of the biggest organisations in Hong Kong, Ronald is no stranger to a busy schedule. Yet, he has chosen to take on our challenge to compete in the 2025 IRONMAN Japan, South Hokkaido, this September. His journey embodies the power of commitment, courage, and perseverance. 

Ronald shares,  “Like many triathletes, I’m signing up for this Ironman race (3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42.2km run) because it represents a rite of passage and a pinnacle of one’s athletic journey. These days, I wake up by sunrise and cram hours of training into an already hectic week. Yet it’s encouraging to know that thousands of fellow participants are preparing just as hard for this all-consuming competition, juggling the demands of training, career and family and making sacrifices in the process. Ultimately, I want to once again push my limit for a good cause, and for illustrating the timeless wisdom “you’re stronger than you think”— in life, as in sport.”
