Our first-ever territory-wide Flag Day, held on 17 February 2024, was a remarkable success and marked a great start to the Year of the Dragon! We were thrilled to witness an incredible turnout of over 3,500 passionate volunteers who came from different organisations, schools, the general public, on top of our own IHKSports students and their families, all of them taking to the streets of Hong Kong to help us raise funds for our sports cause on the day.
Design of our Flag Stickers

The six flag stickers were designed by local illustrator Maoshan, each sticker with the theme “Sport is…” to showcase six different aspects and values of sports, including perseverance, charming, teamwork, enjoyment, discipline, and effort. We also created a limited edition gold flag set to commemorate the special occasion. The stickers were designed with an aim to remind the public of the importance of sports and encourage active participation in physical activities. The creative flag designs received countless accolades from the public, and we were delighted to make numerous new friends who were introduced to our work for the first time through this Flag Day.
We were incredibly fortunate to have the support of 16 athletes who helped us create a series of short promotional clips for our Flag Day. Starting from February 2024, we posted one of these clips each day on our Instagram page, building anticipation among our followers and counting down together to the Flag Day.

We raised over HK$1,000,000 through this Flag Day and the donation goes to supporting our foundation’s work and programmes in empowering more underprivileged youth and children through sports as a means. The full audit report has been uploaded to the designated government webpage for public access. This outstanding success was only made possible thanks to the unwavering support of our IHKSports students, their families, corporate donors, partners, and all those who believe wholeheartedly in our sports-for-development mission. We look forward to organising more public-facing activities to further raise awareness on the transformative power of sports.
