Hui Kwok On was the champion of men’s 1,500-metre race in the first Home Run Inter-district Competition, and later enrolled in a Higher Diploma Programme in Sports. Although he could no longer participate in Home Run due to age restrictions after graduating from secondary school, he was recommended to become an assistant coach.

I want to try different roles, which I believe will benefit my sports career and future career planning.
As an assistant coach, he guided participants and handled administrative work. He admitted that previously he only focused on training and reviewing his own weaknesses. As an assistant coach, he needs to be more proactive in understanding participants’ training conditions and think about how to interact with them, which has given him a deeper understanding and insight into training.

Kwok On also shared that he now not only runs faster on the track but also sees further beyond it, which has made him more humble.
After participating in Home Run, I’ve seen how vast the world is. Runners around me are extremely talented and gifted, which has made me understand the importance of persistent practice.
