Introduction

“The Happiest Loser”, funded by Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies and organised by InspiringHK Sports Foundation, is a medical-social intervention programme aimed at combating weight issues and long-term health problems resulting from inactivity among children. This holistic programme consists of children’s fitness classes, as well as parent-child sessions including health seminars, sports tasting, and take-home exercises, helping children establish an active and healthy lifestyle.

The programme collaborates with the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education of the Chinese University of Hong Kong to conduct randomised controlled trial (RCT) research.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

PART I: Sports Training & Parent-child Sports Tasting
  • Eight session of children’s sports classes and two session of parent-child sports tasting
  • Take-home exercise tasks

PART II: Parent-child Health Talks
  • Informative talks on healthy eating and body posture respectively

PART III: Impact Evaluation
  • In collaboration with the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education of the Chinese University of Hong Kong to conduct randomised controlled trial (RCT) research
