Introduction
Youth Run Ventures, funded by Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies and organised by InspiringHK Sports Foundation, provides running training and overseas competition opportunities for underprivileged youth, hoping to allow them to unleash their potential without being restricted by financial conditions. The programme provides a total of 24 hours of professional running training with regular skill tests. Selected students will then participate in a three-day overseas exchange. The programme will conclude with a sports-related career exploration activity.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Professional Training
- A total of 24 hours of long-distance running training, led by renowned local runner Wong Ho-chung and his team – The Peak Hunter
- Regular skill tests to analyse students’ performances
Overseas competition opportunities
- 3 days, 2 nights overseas opportunity to join a running competition in Asia
- Professional coaches to select students based on their performance, training attitude and attendance (students with none or less experience abroad will be given priority in the selection)
Other key elements:
- Reimbursement scheme to support students in joining local competitions
- Career exploration activities and post-trip internal sharing

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
Professional Training
- A total of 24 hours of long-distance running training, led by renowned local runner Wong Ho-chung and his team – The Peak Hunter
- Regular skill tests to analyse students’ performances
- Training took place in 4 districts, Tai Po, Kwai Tsing, Tseung Kwan O and Eastern starting from November 2024
Overseas competition opportunities
The 3-day, 2-night Taichung exchange tour for Youth Run Ventures concluded successfully in March 2025. 19 outstanding students, selected from 80, underwent a month of intensive training to prepare for this exchange trip. The highlight of the tour was participating in the 9.5km challenge category of the 2025 Shengang Charity Marathon. Our participants demonstrated exceptional performance, securing an impressive 10 awards!
“Four Trails” Movie Sharing
The programme concluded with a screening of “Four Trails”, a documentary showcasing one of Hong Kong’s most grueling ultramarathons, followed by a sharing session led by our students.
Students delivered heartfelt testimonies, sharing personal stories of resilience drawn from their transformative exchange trip in Taichung. Representatives from Decathlon also did a sharing with students at the screening.
