【Sports Inspires!】November Highlights

Partnered with UBS to host the UBS Sports & Family Day for the third year!

We are thrilled to have partnered with UBS to host UBS Sports & Family Day 2024, held on 9 November at Harrow International School Hong Kong, engaging over 1,800 UBS employees and their families!

We hope all participants had a fantastic time engaging in the variety of sports offered on the day and had a meaningful weekend bonding with each other. Some demonstrated exceptional team spirit during the competitions in badminton, cricket, tennis, and football, contributing to the vibrant sports atmosphere as everyone actively cheered each other on! A special thank you also to our guests, Hong Kong Olympic swimmer Camille Cheng and para-badminton medallist Daniel Chan, who joined us at the closing ceremony and shared their inspiring sports journeys.

As a charity dedicated to promoting sports and well-being, we are proud to host this sports day for the third consecutive year with UBS, who has been a great supporter of our mission in empowering youth through sports. This was an excellent occasion reflecting UBS’s commitment to encouraging healthy lifestyles among UBS staff and their families through sports.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to UBS for their continued support and collaboration again, which makes events like this possible. Together, we are driving positive change through sports!

🌈 EMbrace Minorities: Tung Chung Cultural ImmerSPORTS Tour

With the generous support of the Swire Group Charitable Trust, IHKSports was thrilled to have teamed up with the Zubin Foundation to organise the “🌈EMbrace Minorities: Tung Chung Cultural ImmerSPORTS Tour.” Despite a bit of drizzle on the day, the enthusiasm from participating families was truly inspiring.

Our event featured ambassadors from the Zubin Foundation who guided participants through a rich tapestry of ethnic cultures such as spice and food tastings, as well as opportunities for language learning. Additionally, volunteers from the Swire Group Charitable Trust served as team leaders, engaging families as they explored and gained a deeper understanding of the Tung Chung community.

A highlight of the tour was the exciting sports tasting sessions where participants engaged in dodgebee and cricket, with families fully immersed in the fun and camaraderie!

IHKSports will continue to team up with other partners in the “Building Community, Building Tung Chung” programme to provide more activities for residents in Tung Chung, hoping to create a more inclusive and connected community!

Sports LinkVenture Kickstarted:
Empowering Youth to Explore More Challenges in 2025!

IHKSports is thrilled to announce that Sports LinkVenture, funded by Link REIT, has officially kicked off in November! Every weekend, teenagers will experience a series of mountain, sea and urban sports at various districts across Hong Kong. This not only allows them to discover new interests and skills but also encourages them to challenge themselves through sports and stepping out of their comfort zones. Whether it is overcoming a fear of heights by completing a rope descent or paddling a SUP into the open sea, these invaluable memories are beneficial for their growth.

Recruitment is now underway for the 2025 classes for Sports LinkVenture! The upcoming classes include specialised advanced training, a 100-kilometre relay challenge, and a sports carnival, aiming to provide more teenagers with exciting and diverse sporting experiences.

For registration or more details, please contact Ms. Chan at 560 560 13.
