【Sports Inspires!】September Highlights

JC Fit City – Community Day

Funded and initiated by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, and co-organised by InspiringHK Sports Foundation, JC Fit City Community Day was successfully held at Citywalk on 8 September, attracting almost 700 participants.

We were delighted to have invited Ms. Grace Chan, popular influencer and mother of three, to the event. She personally tried out various sports challenges on-site, including archery, basketball, badminton, and table tennis. Through her active participation, she hopes to encourage citizens to engage in sports even amidst their busy schedules and establish a habit to exercise.

Charity Sports Programme Presents: Basketball Shooting Challenge

Charity Sports Programme Presents: Basketball Shooting Challenge, under the Sports ComeUnity Promotional Scheme, was successfully held on 15 September at the Ming Tak Basketball Court, Tseung Kwan O. The event was fully supported by Tencent Charity Foundation and Gaw Capital People’s Place.

Led by Legislative Council members, District Councilors, local Division A1 basketball players, and coaches, over 200 youths and residents successfully completed 990 shots within five hours. These were then converted into 990 wellness packs, which were distributed on-site and across various districts in Hong Kong, spreading the spirit of sports and love to the community.

With the aspiration to promote a healthy lifestyle and a positive sports environment within our community, we have launched the Sports ComeUnity Promotional Scheme, featuring six major activities for families and youths and have benefitted over 6,000 participants.

【💻Team Talk】Joining the Philanthropy for Better Cities Forum 2024

We extend our gratitude to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for organising the Philanthropy for Better Cities Forum 2024 which encouraged us to reflect on our impact and seek innovative ways to enhance our services. The distinguished lineup of speakers offered a wealth of diverse perspectives on philanthropy, fundraising and measuring impact across various countries. As a local sports charity, we were particularly excited to see sports and arts highlighted as key themes in the forum’s conclusion. In today’s challenging environment, both sports and arts play a vital role in fostering confidence and hope for future generations. This forum has invigorated our commitment to utilising sports to empower our youth!
