【🔥January Event Highlights】

【JC Fit City – Run With Your Heart Sports Carnival 2025】

The “JC Fit City — Run With Your Heart Sports Carnival 2025” successfully took place at the West Kowloon Cultural District on 25 January. As one of the co-organisers, IHKSports hosted creative booths and engaging sports experience sessions on the day.

The booths were divided into four sections: three game areas which included “Sports Zero — Golden Ball”“Sports Soso — Lion Dance”“Sports Hero — Snake Jump”, and one fun photo-taking zone – “Become the God of Wealth”. The booths’ visual design blended in the festive red of Chinese New Year with a whimsical pixelated aesthetic for vibrancy and eye-catchiness. The simple yet entertaining games ensured participants of all ages and fitness levels could take part in and have fun!

Additionally, IHKSports organised two sports experience sessions on the main stage, featuring Kung Fu Fan and Nunchaku. Under the guidance of skilled coaches, participants had the chance to immerse themselves in these sports, learning the basics while enjoying the unique cultural experience.

FENCING Inspires! Workshop with Hong Kong Épée Athlete Kaylin Hsieh🤺】

In early January, we hosted a fun-filled fencing workshop for our épée fencing class students, featuring Hong Kong épée team representative Miss Kaylin Hsieh.

Kaylin led engaging mini-games that help students practise essential fencing drills, and shared her journey as a student-athlete, motivating students with her strategies in balancing academics and sports. As we opened the floor for a final question, enthusiastic hands shot up from students who were reluctant to see the sharing session end so soon!

We were honoured to have representatives from Jebsen Group joining us on the day to interact with the students. Jebsen Group has been supporting our work in providing underprivileged children or those with special educational needs (SEN) with equal opportunities to access and explore sports without financial constraints. We are grateful for the continued partnership with Jebsen Group in making these meaningful collaborations happen!

【IHKSports X SFC: SFC Family Sports Day 2025🎊】

We are excited to have organised the “SFC Family Sports Day 2025” for the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) at Taikoo Primary School in January, attracting over 380 participants, including SFC colleagues and their families. We were also delighted to welcome families from Taikoo Primary School, along with underprivileged students and their parents from our IHKSports programmes to join in the event!

The fun day offered various opportunities for parent-child interactions through sports, where families had a chance to try the very popular sport – fencing, explore newly emerged sports such as spikeball and dodgebee, and participate in enjoyable family fun game challenges—all while creating cherished weekend memories!

A special thank you to our star guest Mr. Angus Ng, Hong Kong badminton team representative at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, who attended the opening ceremony, sharing inspiring insights from his badminton journey.

A heartfelt thank you to the SFC for the opportunity and support in collaborating for this meaningful event. Together, we aim to advocate and inspire families to participate in more physical activities. We eagerly anticipate future collaborations with the SFC to support more children and youth through sports, helping to bring more sporting dreams to life in Hong Kong!

【🔥Team News 】JC Fit City Cup 3×3 Basketball Tournament!

Recently, six of our IHKSports female colleagues who have limited or no prior basketball experience, formed a girls’ basketball team and stepped up to the challenge by participating in the JC Fit City Cup Special Rules Basketball Competition!

In preparation for the competition, they took lunch breaks to do regular practice, starting with fundamental skills and gradually progressed to forming competition tactics – taking it step by step!

On game day, our team faced off against some seriously seasoned opponents, but that didn’t dampen our spirits one bit! We were immensely proud of our team’s performance and most importantly their spirit of perseverance. We cannot wait to take up the next challenge as a team!
