The 7th season of the WELL DUNK! Public Estate Basketball League & Training Programme Grand Finals 2025-26, organised by IHKSports, successfully concluded at the Tsuen Wan Sports Centre. The high-octane event welcomed over 1,000 spectators on site and attracted more than 20,000 live-stream viewers, bringing everyone together to witness the rise of the next generation of basketball talent from Hong Kong’s public housing estates.

This year’s Grand Finals were honoured by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Tai Sheung Shing, JP, Under Secretary for Housing; Mr. Au Ka Shing, JP, District Officer (Tsuen Wan); NBA legend and WELL DUNK! Ambassador Stephon Marbury; CBA All-Star and Chinese national player Meng Duo; and National Games U22 Captain and Hong Kong Eastern player Ivan Yang. An inspiring sharing session by these sports icons injected positive energy into the community and motivated youth to chase their dreams.

Following nine months of rigorous training and pushing their limits across more than 300 highly competitive matches, the final four powerhouse teams advanced to the ultimate stage. In the Girls’ Gold Cup Final, Siu Hei Pioneers triumphed over Kai Ching Enchanters to secure the championship title, with Leung Sum Yee earning the Girls’ Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. The momentum carried into the Boys’ Gold Cup Final, where Wah Fu Splash Brothers defeated On Ting Bulls to claim the throne, while Leung Chi Hin was honoured with the Boys’ Finals MVP award.

Beyond the intense court action, the halftime show featured a powerful centrepiece event: the “Linking the Legacy & Breaking the Boundaries” 1,000-Person Relay. More than a thousand local public housing youth, ethnic minority students, and community members joined hands with officiating guests to form a spectacular human chain spanning both levels of the stands and the main court. Together, they passed basketballs representing their shared public estate dreams, beautifully transforming athletic synergy into lasting community cohesion and epitomising the spirit of breaking boundaries.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to forging strong alliances with corporate partners to expand this vital platform—one that seamlessly bridges social inclusion with athletic development—to fully realise the mission of empowering youth through sports.

Sports LinkVenture 2.0: Dragon Boat, Skateboarding & BMX Biking Community Experience Day Concludes Successfully

Despite the unpredictable weather, two Community Experience Days of Sports LinkVenture 2.0—organised by IHKSports and sponsored by Link REIT’s Link Together Initiatives—wrapped up with incredible energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship from our participants.

The Shing Mun River provided a vibrant backdrop for our Dragon Boat Experience Day, which featured former Hong Kong elite athlete,  Lisa Cheng. After sharing her inspiring journey of overcoming adversity, Lisa joined the participants on the water to paddle alongside them. Under the guidance of professional coaches, the teams synchronised their strokes to the rhythmic drumbeat, executing sharp, unified sprints.

Meanwhile, action sports took centre stage at Kwun Tong Promenade! Participants dived into the world of Skateboarding & BMX Biking, guided by Hong Kong skateboarding representative Chun Chai. As peers cheered each other on and mastered challenging new tricks, the participants walked away with far more than just technical skills—they gained a profound masterclass in resilience, learning the invaluable life lesson of how to rise after every fall.

Simultaneously, the Community Day drew vibrant crowds, transforming the promenade into a bustling hub of activity. Attendees of all ages braved the summer heat to immerse themselves in a diverse line-up of sports experiences, including Kin-Ball, Fencing, Football, Korfball, Taekwondo, and Chinese Dance. The event brought people together by showing how sports unite communities and strengthen families.

We are grateful to Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies for their generous sponsorship and support. The smiles and enthusiasm of every participant made the day truly special. Looking ahead, we will continue to grow community sports and create more opportunities for connection across generations.

Stepping Up for Healthier Habits with the “Workplace Walking Challenge”

Maintaining a regular exercise routine amidst a busy work schedule is often easier said than done. However, building a healthier lifestyle can actually be quite simple, and it all begins with taking that very first step.

This year, IHKSports is honoured to once again serve as a supporting organisation for the Department of Health’s “10,000 Steps Day Walking Challenge”. To lead by example and encourage everyone to prioritise physical and mental well-being, we have officially joined the “Workplace Walking Challenge — 10,000 Steps a Day” campaign, taking concrete action to support this meaningful initiative.

We hope to lead by example by encouraging our team members to integrate physical activity into their daily routines and inspire one another along the way. Through this daily walking commitment, we are not just building healthier habits for ourselves; we also hope to channel this positive energy back into the community.

By walking the walk, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the next generation, unlocking new possibilities for local youth with every single stride.
