NBA Cares x IHKSports:

WELL DUNK! Basketball Coaches Clinic & Skills Lab

We were honoured to have collaborated with the NBA Cares to host the “WELL DUNK! 2025/26 – NBA Cares x IHKSports Coaches Clinic & Youths Skills Lab” at Christian Alliance International School in Lai Chi Kok, Hong Kong on 29 March 2026.

The event was led by former NBA player and renowned skills coach Adam Harrington, who has served as an assistant coach and director of player development in the NBA. Coach Harrington conducted a coaches clinic focused on technical skills, positive coaching, communication, and leadership, followed by on-court simulated training sessions.

The coaches clinic was a full day event, which brought together about 60 local youth coaches from the WELL DUNK! programme. The morning session was led by coach Burshaud Williams, who is a professional coach and player development specialist with over 20 years of experiences.

The youth skills lab was held on the same day led by coach Adam Harrington trained more than 60 WELL DUNK! students for 2-hour of intensive learning and high-energy basketball. Coaches gained practical tools for player management, skill development, and game-like team tactics from the coaches clinic, while students took part in a skills lab featuring shooting, ball-handling, passing, finishing drills, and game scrimmages.

The clinic and skills lab underscored the shared commitment of NBA Cares and InspiringHK Sports Foundation to empowering youths through sport, fostering positive values, and building capacity among community coaches.

This wasn’t just about drills; it was about breaking down barriers. By bringing world-class NBA expertise directly to our coaches and students, we ensured that every young athlete, regardless of their socioeconomic background, had an equal seat at the table and an equal shot at excellence.

Inclusion in action at IHKSports

We are proud to announce that IHKSports has taken an important step forward in promoting social inclusion. We have officially signed the Racial Diversity and Inclusion Charter for Employers, witnessed by EOC Chairperson Ms. Linda Lam Mei Sau, SBS — reflecting our long-term commitment to diversity.

During the signing ceremony, our CEO Ms. Iris Wong engaged in an in-depth exchange with Ms. Lam. This signing affirms IHKSports’ years of effort in creating an equitable environment through sport — enabling every young person, regardless of background, to find their place on the court.

Through this Charter, we pledge to use sport as a universal language that transcends race and background, breaking barriers and building equality together. We believe that embracing diversity nurtures a broader perspective in the next generation and brings more positive energy to our community.

Breaking Boundaries: Mavis Conquers 42.195km!

We are thrilled to celebrate Ms. Mavis Fung, IHKSports’ Senior Programme Manager, for achieving her own goal and completing the “MOVE & RAISE Challenge”!

On 8 March, Mavis completed the Nagoya Women’s Marathon in 4 hours 17 minutes and 20 seconds — not only breaking her personal “Sub-430” goal (finishing within 4 hours 30 minutes), but also demonstrating extraordinary willpower. At the age of 42, achieving such an impressive result in her first full marathon is a true testament to her resilience and determination.

For Mavis, the 42.195km was more than a physical challenge — it was a journey of turning self-healing into strength. Her courage has inspired her colleagues and set a powerful “say it, do it” example for the underprivileged youth we serve.

Mavis successfully raised HK$42,195. All proceeds will go directly to IHKSports’ programmes, creating more opportunities for young people to grow and thrive.

Crossing the finish line is not an end, but the beginning of another goal. We look forward to witnessing Mavis’ continued breakthroughs.
