About the Campaign
MOVE & RAISE Sports Charity Challenge: Turn Your Sweat into Hope
InspiringHK Sports Foundation’s (IHKSports) MOVE & RAISE Sports Charity Challenge is embarking on a life-changing journey with challengers. As a sports charity dedicated to empowering youth through sports, the entire team is taking on our very own MOVE & RAISE challenge!
We’ve set our sights on a team goal that pushes us together: to raise HK$10,000 by collectively burning 10,000 calories through movement and sports over two months. Every drop of sweat and every dollar raised will directly support our programmes for underprivileged youth in Hong Kong, giving them access to the same transformative power of sport that drives us.

Across the team, everyone has embraced the challenge in their own unique way. Some are chasing personal fitness goals — from weightlifting milestones to weekly running targets. Others have formed teams to take on competitive challenges, pushing each other to go further and faster. And every Monday during lunch, you’ll find us on the court, enjoying basketball, volleyball, and more. We’re not just building fitness, we’re building camaraderie, resilience, and something far bigger than ourselves.

TEAM CHALLENGE – FITNESS COMPETITION

To contribute to our 一BURN萬里 challenge, a group of us decided to level up by joining the JC Fit City Fitness Competition on 18 April! Although the race lasted less than 15 minutes, the intensity was far tougher than expected.
From pre-training sessions to tactical discussions, the adrenaline was real. We are thrilled with the results: our Corporate Mix team took the Champion title🏆, and the Open Women team bagged the Silver! More than the medals🥈, what we value most is the transformation from colleagues to teammates, crossing the finish line together. We proved that with the right mindset and teamwork, anyone can push past their limits!

TEAM WELLNESS – HIKING @BIG WAVE BAY

Step by Step: Treading Lightly on the Trails 🥾⛰️
Recently, our group of colleagues set out from To Tei Wan to take on one of Hong Kong’s classic hiking trails—Dragon’s Back! While enjoying 360-degree views of the sea and mountains, we came fully equipped to collect litter along the way, putting the “Leave No Trace” ethos into practice ♻️. This activity, known as “Plogging,” blends hiking with trash cleanup—not only is it great exercise, but it also gives back to the environment!
The weather that day was quite hot, especially during the steep ascent at the beginning—everyone felt the heat and fatigue. But once we reached the summit, gazing out at the vast sea and the lush green slopes, every drop of sweat felt completely worth it. And sharing that journey with a whole team, all working toward the same goal, made the effort even more meaningful and energizing!

Daniel’s 50,000 steps walking challenge

Daniel: “As a person who loves walking, I took part in the 「一BURN萬里」challenge over the Easter holiday — walking 50,000 steps in 7 days! I slacked off a few days in between and didn’t walk a lot, but at the end I made up my mind to catch up on my steps and successfully finished the challenge! Pikmin Bloom is an app with which you walk for growing digital flowers. It really gives you extra motivation to walk more. It’s actually quite fun to grow flowers while you’re walking!”
Nadia’s Cardio challenge

Nadia: “Over the past 3–4 years I’ve been going to the gym on and off, but I never managed to build a long-lasting habit.
This 3-day slope walk challenge became a great chance to push myself again. By completing three sessions, I’ve started to rebuild the idea of regular exercise. The challenge reminded me: the most important thing is to show up and begin. Every time I sweated, my body felt loose, my mind lighter, and it was simply refreshing. Exercise doesn’t have to be punishing—it’s about turning it into something sustainable.
These three days gave me confidence and motivation, and reminded me that health is my own responsibility. I’ll keep this habit beyond the challenge, making exercise part of my life.”
Cassandra’s Multi-sports challenge

Cassandra: “In this MOVE & RAISE Sports Charity Challenge, I picked running and boxing, doing three sessions of each. For someone who hasn’t exercised regularly in years, just getting started every single time felt like a mental battle with myself.
Running, to me, felt like a real test of will — I remember on the first day I ran 5km, I was out of breath after just a few steps. My brain was screaming at me to stop, but I really wanted to help the team complete this challenge, and I wasn’t ready to give up just yet. So I pushed through and kept going. By the last run, I slowly started to actually enjoy running. I began finding my rhythm, fixing my breathing, and just enjoying the ‘me-time’ on the road.
As for boxing, that became my stress-relief outlet — a way to let go of all the everyday pressure. Between trying to keep my punches fast and sharp and the non-stop cardio, it really pushed my limits. Turns out, an hour of training goes by pretty fast. Walking out of class, I could feel that post-workout dopamine kick in, and I felt so much lighter heading home.
These two challenges really helped me break out of my usual lazy routine. I’m also grateful that this challenge gave me that little push to try something new. Hopefully I can keep up this exercise habit, and that this campaign can help more people discover how fun and good for you sports are!”
Tracey’s Hiking challenge

Tracey: ” This was my first time challenging the hiking route “1 Peak – 3 Peninsula – 4 Beaches” with a total distance of 26 km. I managed to complete it successfully in 10.5 hours!
The tough weather made the trail even harder, but it kept me focused on every step. That’s why I love hiking: being fully present in the moment. Long hikes are all about teamwork — supporting each other, cheering through the pain, and celebrating together at the finish line. Exhausted but filled with pure happiness.”
Winnie’s 10,000 stpes challenge

Winnie: “This walking challenge didn’t just push me to exercise more, while it also gave me a chance to really explore the neighbourhood I live in.
Even though I’ve been living in Tuen Mun for three years, I realised there are so many places I’ve only ever passed by, never stopping to take a careful look or get to know them.
Through this walk, I noticed lots of interesting small shops, parks and trails great for exercising, as well as plenty of people in the community enjoying sports. It’s made me interested and motivated to keep exploring the whole Northwest region on foot, by running or cycling in future.”
Vincy’s 5KM Running challenge

Vincy: “I used to only run when I was forced to, but after some time, I’ve started enjoying running again! It’s been ages since I last ran, so this time I challenged myself to run 5 kilometers! Even though I ran alone in the park, taking part in the team challenge 「一BURN萬里」made it feel like I was running alongside lots of people. For me, that made it really meaningful and created happy memories! I’m slower than I used to be, but I’m still really glad I got to run as part of a challenge like this. I’ll definitely keep it up and get back into running properly from now on!”
Molly’s Weekly Cardio challenge

Molly: “I used to always make excuses for myself. I either said I was tired, or told myself I’d exercise tomorrow instead. But thanks to this group challenge, I actually managed to push myself and achieve something! At first, I kept checking my watch every five or ten minutes, but by the end I was able to keep going for a full 30 minutes. For someone who doesn’t exercise much like me, that was really tough to get through.
In the past, I would’ve definitely said “maybe next time”.But it turns out that when exercise is no longer just a personal thing, and every drop of sweat can help others, I really can keep going. This kind of perseverance that was “pushed out” of me has truly given me even more motivation to keep going!”
Shirley’s Hiking challenge

Shirley: “On my day off on April 9th, I went hiking outdoors for over an hour. Midway through, I had a sudden outbreak of hives, which forced me to stop and rest. It was really uncomfortable, and I almost gave up. But in the end, I pushed through and finished, and I felt an instant sense of relief.Even though it wasn’t easy, I felt a great sense of accomplishment seeing myself stick it out until the end.
Thanks to my family for their encouragement. This challenge made me realize even more that health is something we have to actively strive for.”
YuTing & Alvina’s Table Tennis challenge
YuTing & Alvina:
“Background
Why did I first get the idea to challenge myself to bounce a ping-pong ball 50 times in a row?
It all started at my company’s Mid-Autumn Festival party last year. My team drew a really difficult game task: each person had to bounce a ping-pong ball 10 times and then pass it to the next teammate. For someone like me who has had zero athletic talent since I was little, it felt nearly impossible. On top of that, my lovely colleagues all bet that our team would fail!! 😮💨
Amazingly, after failing several times, a miracle happened!! I actually managed to bounce the ping-pong ball 10 times in a row, and my teammates and I even finished the mission within the time limit!! 🏓
Ever since that day, my colleagues have been tagging me like crazy whenever they see anything related to ping-pong. Since everyone seemed so expectant, I decided to push myself further with an upgraded challenge — Bounce a ping-pong ball 50 times in a row! This time, I even invited Alvina, my fundraising teammate, to practise and take on the challenge with me.To be honest, I still don’t feel very confident right now, but how will I know if I can do it unless I try?!
YT Day 1 Practice Record: 30-minute result: 11 out of 50 bounces
Today I specially asked an experienced “ping-pong expert” for some tips. Turns out you shouldn’t just start bouncing wildly right away. However, first you need to master your balance and control over the ball’s position. I realised that feel and rhythm are super important!
After my first day of practice, I found two big problems with my technique:(1) I’m too impatient and can’t keep up with the ball’s rhythm. (2) My hand-eye coordination isn’t great 😮💨
I still have a long way to go to reach my goal of 50 bounces, and honestly, it’s a little frustrating. But through practising, I’ve learned more about my own weaknesses like how I’m too hasty and easily annoyed when I don’t see immediate results. So this challenge isn’t just about improving my ping-pong skills but it’s also about training my patience, perseverance and emotional intelligence.Hopefully I can carry today’s feel into following days and see some progress!
